McClaren is actually a better manager than most people are prepared to admit.

But his reputation would cause a problem with our fans - they'd be on his back extremely quickly after a few defeats.

I'm just not sure that inviting such pressure onto a new manager is the sort of fresh start West Ham need.

Besides, despite the fact that he is a better manager than many people think, his best days do seem behind him.

Now that would be a bad mistake and I don't take it as a serious consideration. I very much doubt that DS is that daft. And those that say they would rather have SA are just bottle jobs.

There will be a decent manager available that we can employ soon enough. Possibly someone we hadn't even thought about. In the meantime our board under Tony Henry's advice are clearly getting on with the player recruitment process

I heard that part of the reason for derbys bad form were the loan signings. It ruffled the camp quite badly by all accounts.
